Working on the Environment

After a few bits of input about the safe lightning from before i've made a few changes and the images here show the evolution of it, from the original look on the bottom you can see i've added neon lights to the pillars, adjusted the neon brightness and pilar textures, added polygons to the safe doo to smooth it out and finallly increased the intensity of the light a bit.

The images range from the most recent at the top to the old version at the bottom

For a video test i've added the espio test into the enviornment and re rendered to see how a model looks in the enviornment

The Big Project

Heres a little preview of my big summ,er project, with one area mostly complete save for finalising textures and lighting on the character this is what the film when made should look like

Its still very much a work in progress, the test animation I posted earlier will happen in this room.. i'll upload more still images over the coming weeks... Espio still has a sword i've yet to include in textured renders and a bike.. A nice Honda DN-01 the Kamen Rider Decade Bike for those you want to see it in use you know what to search for.. its a nice scooter/motorbike hybrid.

Another Test

Heres another quick test with a model of the Sonic the Hedgehog series character Espio, i'm doign an animation with this model so I had to see what kind of moves it could do, The model was given too me however this has been heavily altered from teh original version, and a compleatly new rig added.

As you can see the model doesn't hold up well to crouching movements, but it does seem to be able to carry out fluid ones with stretched out limbs.. due to the long legged neture of the character its probably not possible to change the legs without making teh character appear out of proportion

You can view a higher quality version in the animations section

Wolf Animation Test

One of my friends supplied me with a little model he designed for me to play around with, so i created this little run cycle for the prupose of testing the model and the rig.

Thanks for Morgan for the model, without him i'd have to have used my wolf model.. which sucks in comparions cause its not an awesome robot lol

Anyway enjoy

Updating Work

At uni were always advised to revisit old projects to see how we can change them with what weve learned over time, so i decided to revisit my lego scorpion, while the model was detailed heavily the textures were supbar, I used mental Ray to give it a whole new look, as well as make a nice little pond for it to walk around in

I have to images here, one is of a mountain scape with ice, the other a candyland landscape where everything is hypercoloured and edible. I'll be able to publush the final animation when its finished at the end of next week but until then heres a little preview:

First Videos Up

I've uploaded 2 of my videos from semester 2, just a basic arm rigging test and lip sync show. Nothing too major but something to improve on in the future. Heres the lip sync for your pleasure to see, sound clip from The Forbidden Kingdom:

On a side note i've removed music from the site because updating the feature was giving me a headache, plus i'm sure it got annoying after a while anyway.

Finished Finally

Well I finally finished my image that i had been working on for the past few weeks, i've only had a little bit of time to put into it. It was just a basic experament anyway because i don't have much experiance with photoshop so I had to start somewhere, still its a start and theres no where to go but up! Most of the tonal effects were done with dodge and burn.

My First Major Model

While I was digging through my old hard drive from my, as of yesterday, broken laptop I found the Max files from my major project last year. The model I build was a 3D version of one of the scorpions from the LEGO Bionicle range of toys. Back then my modeling knowledge was basic and i spent weeks working on recreating every part of the toy in 3D, while recognised as a very detailed model, hence the 1st i received from the project it was still a little messy in places, from the screen shot here you can see the bulk of the detail and the few vertices's that are out of place here and there.

Music working finally!!

After a good bit of playing around I've finally found good media player...well with alot of modifying to the script its good now, anyway music is up and running, set to auto play as standard but you can stop it anytime. Only 2 tracks right now but in time i'll add a few more when i find some better stuff. The music player is at the bottom of the page so you can change the music at any time, or turn it off.

From the Archives

While I was wondering through my university files today I found some old renders of some experiments I did with volumetric light, in my first few weeks of using 3D MAX I wanted to try out a basic water scene, ths was one of my renders I created, theres a selection of them in the renders slideshow along with screen shots of my other earlier projects for all to see
